事件发生之前：

去年秋天，气象预报说有一个台风朝我居住的城市而来，所以我和家人为此作了一些预防措施。

现在的状况：

如同气象预报的一样，台风隔天就袭击了我的家乡。许多树被吹倒并造成许多建筑物毁损。连日下雨也致使水患成灾。邻近的地区甚至都停电了。

接下来会发生的事或未来该做什么：

虽然修复这些东西所费不赀，但幸亏所有的市政工人及志愿者的辛勤努力让我的家乡恢复正常。

　　One day last fall when I turned on the radio, I heard something that shocked me. The announcer said a huge typhoon was heading towards my hometown. He said it would bring heavy winds and rains the following day. I told my mother the news, but she had already heard about it. Later, we went to the store to stock up on food, water, candles, and batteries for our flashlights.

　　As forecast, the typhoon hit my hometown the following day. The winds knocked over trees and tore the roofs off many houses. It rained all day, which caused a lot of flooding. The water came up to people's knees and lots of buildings were damaged. The power in our neighborhood went out. Fortunately, none of my family members were hurt.

　　After the typhoon passed, many buildings had to be repaired. It cost millions of dollars and took six months to fix everything, but thanks to all the hard work by the city workers and volunteers, my hometown now seems normal again.

　　去年秋季某一天我打开收音机时，听见了一件让我震惊的事。播音员说有个超强台风正朝着我家乡而来。他说该台风翌日会带来强风及豪雨。我告诉我妈妈这个消息，但她早就知道了。随后，我们就去商店里储备食物、饮水、蜡烛以及为手电筒买了一些备用电池。

　　正如气象预报，台风隔天就袭击了我的家乡。强风吹倒了许多树木并掀起了许多房子的屋顶。雨下了一整天，导致洪水成灾。水淹及膝，且造成许多建筑物毁损。邻近的地区甚至都停电了。幸运的是，我的家人都没有受伤。

　台风过后，许多建筑物必须进行整修。要花费数百万元及 6 个月的时间才能修复一切，但幸亏有市政工人及志工所付出的辛勤努力，我的家乡现在看起来又恢复正常了。
